Jon Gillespie-Brown, Founder and CEO

Jon Gillespie-BrownJon brings to Nalpeiron extensive leadership experience in the information technology, communications and new media arenas with executive roles spanning from VP Sales and Marketing to President and Chief Executive Officer. He has a great deal of expertise in the Software Development and Security markets and over 22 years in the IT business.

Prior to founding Nalpeiron has was the founder and CEO of three IT Companies in Software, Training and New Media. He successfully built and sold out of these Companies in 2000.

Before his own ventures, Jon worked for Global players such as Ericcson, SmartLink and Pace as VP Sales/Marketing and General Manager.

Jon is on the Board of Directors of Digital Ventures and TeachMe Interactive.

Paul Cooper, VP Sales and Managing Director

cooperPaul has 25 years experience in IT sales, marketing and European general management positions mainly for US corporations including Macrovision, IBM, Dell and Xerox where he started his career.

Paul worked for Macrovision for 5 years and was the VP of Macrovision’s Software Technology Group (STG) for Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA). Paul joined Macrovision’s STG in 2001 when it was known as Globetrotter Software. He started as Sales Director and grew EMEA revenue from $5m p.a. in 2001 to $25m p.a. in 2005. In 2004, Paul led the InstallShield acquisition and integration in Europe. By 2005, Paul was responsible for 80 staff across Europe including 4 Sales teams (direct and channel), pre sales, marketing, services and technical support.

Paul has a BSc Honours degree in Management Sciences from the University of Bradford. He also qualified as a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. He is media trained and acted as spokesperson to journalists, analysts and at industry events. Paul is married with three children and lives near London.

Henry Roberts, CTO

Henry RobertsHenry is a 25 year veteran of the copy protection market assisting Apple with the first copy protection system for the Apple II.

Since then he has created cracking tools as well as Anti-Piracy software across all platforms and has a mix of low level operating systems skills that combined with cryptography allow Nalpeiron to create better solutions.

22 years running a software protection business has allowed him to gain considerable customer insight.

 

 

Howard Davis, CFO

Howard has an honours degree in Accounting and Finance. He joined the International firm of accountants Grant Thornton that provided excellent training and experience and where he obtained his ACA chartered accountant qualification. Howard then started his own practise Price Davis, during which time he met Jon and eventually became CFO in SAS Digital in 1999, a previous venture. After SAS Digital Davis continued his practise and working with Jon as CFO for JGBs latest ventures. Howard has 15 years Corporate Accounting experience across a broad range of IT and Software Companies.

Hugh Smith
Management Board

Hugh is a wealthy investor in a number of technology Companies. He is also a Director of Hardide an AIM listed coatings business and Chairman of Allmakes as well as holding a number of Non-Executive Directorships. He is an investor and board member.

Advisory board

Nalpeiron has a number of very high profile Silicon Valley veterans on it's advisory board plus a Customer board that advises on the future of the product set and new product development.

Matt Christiano

Matt is one of the most experienced and successful Executives in the field of Software Licensing and Digital Rights Management Worldwide. He is the inventor of FlexLM.

He is the founder of Reprise Software and previously served as Executive Vice President of Macrovision Corp and was a member of the Board of Directors of Macrovision from September 2000 until October 2005. From 1982 to September 2000, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Globetrotter Software, Inc. Matt sold Globetrotter to Macrovision for over $800 million in 2000.

Matt has over 30 years of experience in software engineering and general management. He was the founder of GLOBEtrotter Software, and the chief architect of the Globetrotter FLEXlm® electronic license management software that has become the standard in the electronic licensing business.

He holds two U.S. patents in the field of license management. Prior to founding Globetrotter, Matt was one of the original developers of UNIX-based silicon compilation tools at Silicon Compiler Systems (later acquired by Mentor Graphics). Matt holds BS and MEE degrees in Electrical Engineering from Rice University.

Brian McPhail

Brian is the CEO of ObjectMass - a startup focused on creating a universal registry/repository for digital objects.  Prior to ObjectMass, Brian served as VP of Corporate Development for Macrovision, leading the acquisitions of eMeta, InstallShield, TryMedia, and Zero G - which transformed Macrovision from a pure licensing tools company to a provider of lifecycle management services for digital properties. Before that he was the VP and General Manager of the Consumer Software Division at Macrovision (Games, Music, and PC Applications) where he launched what became the industry-leading DRM system for PC software.

Brian spent the first 15 years of his career in Sales, Marketing and Delivery Systems of software through each of the principal sales channels (Distributor, Enterprise, OEM, Retail, VAR). He has a double BA in Economics and Painting from The College of the Holy Cross and earned his MSc. in Business as a Sloan Fellow at London Business School. His Sloan Thesis was “Valuation Effects of Dynamic Licensing on Digital Properties”. 

David Gardner

CEO Infogrames and former Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer Worldwide, EA Games. Mr Gardner has served as Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer Worldwide Studios since September 2005. Previously he served as Vice President, International Publishing since April 2004. Mr. Gardner has also held various positions at Electronic Arts in the sales, marketing and customer support departments since joining the company in 1983.

Michael Cottle

Vice President, Worldwide Sales deCarta with over 20 years of successful sales experience in the software and Internet industries - 10 of those at the Vice President level - leading worldwide sales and distribution channels. Mike holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Dallas. He resides in San Jose, California, and has two teenage children.

Allan Willett (Investor)

Allan Willett CMG is Lord-Lieutenant for Kent, a former Chairman of the UK's largest regional development agency (SEEDA), and recently sold his IT business Willett International to Danaher Corporation for $100M.
